The STORMUR SWEATER offers a contemporary take on the classic Icelandic Lopapeysa, seamlessly blending traditional elements with modern knitting techniques suitable for knitters of all skill levels. First, the neck is cast on using the Italian Tubular method, which provides a stretchy and polished edge. Next, the yoke is shaped with a bold, minimalist geometric stranded colourwork pattern. To ensure the colourwork detail remains proportionate across all sizes, multiple charts are included in the design. Subsequently, short rows are implemented below the yoke to shape the sweater for an optimal fit. Afterwards, the sleeves and body are separated and worked in relaxing stockinette stitch, with hem and cuffs finished in simple ribbing, enhanced by an Italian Tubular Bind-off for a neat and stretchy finish.

Designed with comfort in mind, the sweater is intended to be worn with a 15-20 cm positive ease, creating a relaxed silhouette that transitions seamlessly between outdoor adventures and urban settings. However, it can also be worn with a 10-15 cm positive ease for a more fitted yet still comfortable look.
