The Soft Spoken Sweater seamlessly blends rustic charm and elegance, drawing inspiration from the gentle arrival of spring. This top-down sweater features an intricate yoke stitch pattern with puff rib and slip stitches on a reverse stockinette background. You can begin by either working the neckline ribbing or using a provisional cast-on, and then proceed to work the yoke in the round seamlessly, incorporating increases with the textured stitch pattern. Afterward, the sweater is shaped using short rows, and the sleeves and body are separated and worked in stockinette, leading to cuffs and hem accented by puff rib stitch and half-twisted rib. The hems and cuffs are finished with an Icelandic bind-off for a final touch.

Although the stitch pattern may appear complex, it is easy to memorize and enjoyable to knit, showcasing the ‘potato chippy’ qualities we love. Detailed step-by-step written instructions and supplementary charts guide you throughout the process, while the top-down construction enables you to make adjustments to yoke length, sleeves, and body with ease.

Please choose a size that is 10-15 cm larger than your actual chest circumference. For reference: the sample in the photos is in size 2 with 15 cm positive ease.
