Fisherman's Raglan Sweater - Knitting Pattern
FISHERMAN’S RAGLAN is a rustic raglan-style sweater with relaxed fit and a beautiful, subtle textured stitch panel featuring small herringbone stitch ‘braids’ on front of the sweater and matching decorative raglan-braids. The sweater is knitted from the bottom up in the round, starting with a 2x2 ribbing that flows into the braids on front of the body. The sleeves are knitted separately in stockinette stitch and then joined with the body on a long circular needle. The sweater is then shaped using raglan decreases on each side of the raglan-braids, whilst continuing the pattern on front of the sweater. Subsequently, the neck is shaped with German short rows while continuing the pattern and working raglan decreases at the same time. The turtleneck is worked once again in 2x2 ribbing, with knit stitches flowing out of the ‘braids’ in the pattern just like at the bottom of the body.
Please choose a size 10-15 cm larger than your actual chest circumference. For reference: the sample in the photo is in size 2 with 11 cm positive ease.
